A bit more about me...
- About me
I grew up in rural Nova Scotia but have been living and studying around Toronto for most of the past decade.
I’ve been a historian, professor, curator, creative writer, and librarian. I enjoy singing (not that I’m the best at it), and spending time people watching and working on odds and ends in a cafe.
I enjoy video games with interesting stories and that are artfully done, a lot of Indy things and some more mainstream titles.
I’d like to get into podcasting or vlogging. I’d like to keep doing some educational and entertaining things, even if its just me reading interesting texts aloud.
At this point I’m a bit of a monster of education. Four degrees and a diploma. Tried being a sessional lecturer for a while (history and philosophy of science/science and technology studies), then realized that only about 3% of PhDs get a job in their field these days, re-trained to become a librarian, pretty flexible right now about whether it’s public or academic, though I may end up doing more sessional teaching work to make ends meet this year.
I’m currently at a bit of lose ends, sorting out where to go next in my career, trying to find reasons to be in Nova Scotia as opposed to Southern Ontario or Calgary and thought that a romantic connection could help me sort out where I want to be.
