Do you have any tips for Safely Dating Online?

1. Listen to your Gut Instinct – As you explore profiles, exchange messages, and talk on the phone, listen to your instincts for anything out of alignment.

2. Use Common Sense – Sign up for a free email account using just your first name or nickname. Talk using skype or on your cell phone avoid your landline. Don’t give out your full name or tell people where you work or live.

3. It is not a Race – Don’t rush things. Take your time to get to know someone before you meet. Plus that makes a nice build up to the meeting, more butterflies = more fun. Try to figure out as much as possible about someone, ask too many questions.

4. The First Date – Should be in public, we suggest coffee, as we all know alcohol impairs our judgment. I know it might take the edge off, but you could also make an ass of yourself. Bring your cell phone!
